Lori Altmann

Dr. Altmann’s primary research investigates the interaction between cognitive ability and language use, with a focus on how disorders of executive function and working memory affect language production and comprehension. This research has investigated language use in various populations: healthy young and older adults, Alzheimer patients, adults with dyslexia, and most recently, adults with Parkinson’s disease. A second line of research investigates properties of the semantic system, looking at ways to promote generalization of training in individuals with semantic impairments.
