the workplace and the community. |

Training Program - provides grants to colleges and universities
to give scholarships to students interested in careers in the public
rehabilitation program. It also provides grants to maintain
and upgrade the skills of staff working in state vocational (VR) agencies
and community rehabilitation programs that provide services to those

INSTITUTE ON DISABILITY AND REHABILITATION RESEARCH (NIDRR) |

| The National
Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), a
component of OSERS, provides leadership and support for a comprehensive
program of research related to the rehabilitation of individuals with
disabilities. All of our programmatic efforts are aimed at improving
the lives of individuals with disabilities from birth through adulthood. |

| The NIDRR
Program Directory Database is compiled by the National Rehabilitation
Information Center (NARIC). NARIC functions as NIDRR’s library, providing
the rehabilitation community with information and referral services
to help locate pertinent research related to specific areas of expertise.
The Directory lists nearly 300 projects funded by NIDRR and includes
contact names and information, a project abstract, and links to related
resources. You can browse by research
priority and project
type, or by keywords and subject searches. Also includes
descriptions and examples for each of the search fields. |
