RESEARCH PROGRAM |
The American Cancer Society, Florida Division encourages
and fosters cancer research within the State of Florida through its
Research Program. Emphasis is placed on new approaches to cancer issues
by Florida investigators. During its long history the Florida
Division Research Program has supported many projects contributing
to understanding and treatment of cancer. The Florida Division approaches its aim of fostering research by providing Starter Grants to attract new investigators into cancer research, and Pilot Grants to encourage established investigators to undertake new projects in cancer research. Limited funds are also available through Interim Grants , which are designed to allow established cancer-related projects to continue during a lapse in major agency funding. The Florida Division Research Program makes available grants of up to $25,000 per year for a period of one or two years. |
| NATIONAL
RESEARCH PROGRAM |
The Society's National Research Program (Grant Index) focuses on beginning investigators, a program of targeted research, and an enhanced commitment to psychosocial and behavioral, health services, health policy, epidemiological, clinical and cancer control research. In response to identified needs in clinical oncology, the Society also sponsors grants in support of training for health professionals seeking to develop their clinical expertise and/or their ability to conduct independent research. |
