Dr. Duncan’s primary research interest is to better understand the processes in which health care utilization occurs or fails to occur. The research includes studies that examine the role of health insurance, the impact of public programs, and the form, nature and financing of organizations that provide care. In the current context of constraints on the total resources available for the provision of health care, these interests extend to the comparative value of various specific types of care.
